The City of Launceston council advised that a controlled burn will be undertaken at Punchbowl Reserve on Thursday.
Smoke will be visible in the Punchbowl area, but residents should not be alarmed.
Embers may be visible on Thursday evening, but the burn will continue to be monitored by contractors.
It follows on from a burn off at the Cataract Gorge on Wednesday, as part of the autumn fuel reduction program.
The council has asked members of the public to stay away from the burn area, and obey all associated signage.
The program will also include controlled burns at the Youngtown regional reserve, the Carr Villa flora reserve, and Russell Plains.
