Rosevale trainers have four good chances in Breeders Classic semis

THE Ricky Martin-trained Woosha is expected to be hard to beat in his semi-final of the Tasmanian Breeders Classic at Mowbray on Monday night.

The son of St Pierre heads a strong challenge from the Rosevale-based trainer who, along with wife Sonia Martin, will have four live chances to qualify for next week’s final.

Drawn box 2 in the opening semi, Woosha should lead and could hold out his main threats Diamond Lass and Ricson Flyer.

Ted Medhurst has Black Fesco engaged in the third semi and he is expected to win after drawing box 1.

The first and second placegetters will proceed to the final, with the fastest two third placegetters going in as the reserves.

The racing spotlight heads to Devonport on Tuesday with heats of the Reg and Aileen Ivory Memorial.
