The Saxons, Sundaze, Isla Ka, Emma Anglesey, Elliot Courtnage, Luca Brasi’s Pat Marshall and Trolley Dogs and the Dog Squad have all been confirmed for March 17’s Three Peaks Challenge fundraiser gig at the Royal Oak Boatshed.
Whitelion volunteer and concert coordinator Josh Gudsell said organisers were hoping to raise $3000 at the gig.
“One hundred per cent of what we raise on the night is going to charity and we've been lucky enough that people have donated prizes towards it so we're going to have raffles and giveaways on the night - we have over $2000 worth of prizes donated so far,” Mr Gudsell said.
“Our major raffle prize on the night will be the very first double pass to the 2018 Party in the Paddock which is a pretty huge prize.”
Now in its 11th year, the Three Peaks Challenge sees competitors attempt to reach the summit of Mount Kosciuszko, Mount Tennent and Mount Bogong in 33 hours or less, with entrants required to raise at least $1250 for Whitelion.
The Royal Oak gig will contribute to the fundraising efforts of five Launcestonians, who help make up a group of about 40 Tasmanians competing in this year’s event.
Soloist Elliot Courtnage said he had jumped at the chance to raise money for Whitelion.
“It’s going to be great because it's just going to be a bunch of great people who believe in what the whole thing is actually about, and everyone is there to support each other and have a good time for a common outcome,” Courtnage said.
The gig kicks off at 8pm, with tickets available at the door for $20.
