Owner and director of Fairy Tales and Pirate Sails, Jackie Wools-Cobb said the event is a family event.
“The kids get to come along and meet the princesses. We have face painting and balloon art and a jumping castle… We also get the Van Diemen’s Land Pirate Crew into cause a bit of a ruckus,” Miss Wools-Cobb said.
She said the response to the event had been “really surprising”.
“Generally with Devonport and Burnie we get probably 300 people interested in the Facebook event. This one has already passed 1000, and I think there are 400 going. I’m a tad scared, but I think we’ll be okay.”
“There will be a lot of free and roaming entertainment, so hopefully it won’t be an overly expensive day for people.”
Entry to the event is free, with some activities costing $2 and $5.
