The day started with the formal Australia Day ceremony and a parade of the best dressed Aussies.
“There’s one kid that was dressed as a Hills Hoist, and someone is a loo, that was a real highlight. It’s highly creative,” fusion’s corporate development officer Michael Cleary said.
The day was filled with water balloon volleyball, face painting of Australian icons, jumping castles, sponge relays and sack races, with local live music filling the background, including Barnsey and Men at Work.
“It’s a commitment by the whole community to make it a strong day, but that’s the best of Aussies, when we’re all getting together.”
Northern Midlands Mayor David Downie attended the event marking it as unique.
“Events like this make the community a lot stronger, but what is impressive here is the total turn out. Nearly the whole community are our here participating,” Councillor Downie said.
Ross locals Steve and Chris Robertson attended the event for the first time. Mrs Robertson said sitting listening to the music and watching the children have fun was the perfect Australia Day.
