The program is designed to assist small businesses with the potential challenges of employing a new apprentice or trainee.

The $600,000 fund will be available for businesses with under 20 staff and is customised to the needs of each business.

The fund aims to cover business advice on employing an apprentice or trainee, assistance with recruitment and mentoring the employee.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday, February 10.
