Darren Weir, Gai Waterhouse and Mick Price are among the interstate trainers with runners in either the $100,000 Hobart Guineas or $50,000 Summer Cup.
But Brunton has the early favourite for both races – Life On The Wire, the only filly in the field, heads the Hobart Guineas market while Count Da VInci, unbeaten in five Tasmanian starts, is at the head of betting for the Summer Cup.
Four Victorian three-year-olds will tackle the guineas with Waterhouse’s Northwest Passage and Price’s Shadow Prince rated the best of the visitors.
Weir has highest-rated runner Taiyoo in the cup while Jason Warren will be represented by Thunder Teddington and Richard Laming by Refectory.
The meeting will see the return to racing after injury of top jockey Brendon McCoull.
