James Harding said headline acts were here to stay at future events after the positive feedback received last night.
“For a few years we definitely plateaued, that’s why we revisited the headline acts,” he said.
Bombs Away and the Potbelleezs took to the stage on Saturday night.
More than 3000 people attended the event on Friday and early estimations showed 2017 was a record year for the event.
With close to perfect weather conditions, more than 5000 people were expected to spill through the gates on Saturday.
“It’s definitely going to be the biggest festival that we’ve had to date.”
Mr Harding said the revellers were well-behaved and enjoyed their night.
“Getting around all the stall holders today, they all said they had a really good night, it’s brilliant,” he said.
“Everyone is really loving the mix of great big acts, great breweries and food options. We’ve had great feedback on the amount of food that is available here.”
Van Diemens Brewing owner Will Tatchell said the crowd was on-form and thoroughly loving the drinks and entertainment. He has attended every BeerFest and said the support Tasmania shows is what keeps him coming back.
“It really is our local beer festival. It’s a real opportunity to showcase in front of our local drinkers and we’re always really supported,” Mr Tatchell said.
“It’s a great event for people to come out and try different beers that they may not normally try, that’s really what it’s about. It’s a great event and it continues to grow and get better.”
Mr Harding deemed the event a “great success”.
“It’s been a great success and everyone is really loving the mix of great big acts, great breweries and food options.”
The masterclasses taught punters about matching foods, like cheese and chocolate, with beer and the art of making craft beer with honey.
Mr Harding said the comedy tent allowed the crowd to enjoy plenty of laughs with their lagers.
“We are really thankful for the support that Tasmania keeps showing us and all the local businesses that are helping to promote our event. It’s been a big success,” Mr Harding said.
It is the event’s seventh year.
