A user-run service, PetrolSpy provides pricing information for petrol stations around the country.
It is not updated in real time, because it relies on user-generated reports rather than data direct from retailers.
In Greater Launceston, unleaded fuel is currently cheapest at the Woolworths Caltex in Prospect Vale at 144.9 cents per litre, according to PetrolSpy.
It is reportedly most expensive at the Coles Express on Bathurst Street at 146 cents per litre.
In New South Wales, the FuelCheck website – which is still in its beta version - offers live petrol prices to consumers.
Petrol stations in the state are therefore required to submit data to the government regarding their pricing.
FuelCheck launched in August.
