Event director James Harding said the event is in its 7th year and he believes it is the longest running beer festival in the country.
“We’ve attracted a lot of interstate brewers, so for the first time we’ll have quite a lot of interstate brewers and there has also been a number of Tasmania brewers established, so it is the biggest stall holder line-up that we have had to date,” he said.
“We’ve also got Josh Pyke and Bob Evans to extend their national sold-out tours to perform in Launceston and that is a great addition as well.”
Launceston shares a rich history with brewing because it had one of the first commercial breweries and has been brewing since the convict days.

Mr Harding said the new waterfront location, on Esplanade and Shields Street, in front of the original Esk Brewery, is a bigger site.

The Esk Beerfest in on Friday, January 13 from 5pm to 11pm and Saturday, January 14 from 2pm to 10pm
