Unveiled to the public for the first time on Friday, the outdoor electronic playground came as the result of considerable public consultation and marks the first of three upgrade stages planned for the park.
Ultimate Play's Peter Davey, who helped construct the playground, said it was a joy to see children immediately taking to the new equipment.
“That's what the whole job is all about,” Mr Davey said.
“We do a lot of schools, councils and child care centres across Tassie and to see a park being used like this is exactly what it's all about.”
The new space is fitted out with instructions on how to use the electronic aspects of the playground and pays homage to Longford’s racing history with several car-themed attractions.
