With the festival entering its seventh year, co-organisers Stacy File and James Harding said they’re keen to keep the same winning formula of craft beer, good food and live entertainment, all in a new location.
The festival is shifting to the Esplanade, a decision made to provide more space for an expected 10,000 visitors.
“The original brewery which was there was the Esk Brewery, so … it’s good to have that in the backdrop,” organiser James Harding said.
On a mission to convert the “mainstream” beer lover into a craft drinker, the festival has hit the sweet spot of welcoming not just those dedicated to craft brewing, but anyone with an interest in quality food and entertainment.
This year craft cider will rub shoulders with beer, and brewers will be mixing up espresso martinis, while the popular masterclasses will return.
Headlining the live music acts are Josh Pyke and Bob Evans, with Chris Franklin and Greg Fleet providing live comedy.
Internationally-recognised Pirate Life brewery from South Australia will be attending alongside the festival’s most beloved Tasmanian breweries.
“It’s about the full experience … pushing the envelope on things you might not usually taste,” Ms File said.
“Offering top quality music with top quality beer, cider and food is … it’s a real appreciation festival.”
The Esk BeerFest will be held on January 13-14.
