Consisting of grade 9 students Jessica Faulkner, Sienna Cook, Mia Deans, Joel Parkinson and Trevallyn Primary School's Anya Deans, the group was one of only 18 to win an award at the festival, with a record 232 films entered in this year's competition.
Jessica said the group were thrilled with the result.
“The idea was inspired by Bloody Mary but we didn't want to do the traditional urban legend because we felt that would be same-same, we wanted to put our own spin on it,” Jessica said.
“We all worked hard in our own little areas and it was great to see it come together.”
Films from Newstead College, Launceston Christian School and St Patrick's College also collected awards.
