Dual Tasmanian amateur champion Mark Schulze is among the field for the men’s Northern amateur championship at Riverside on Sunday.

Schulze is looking for his first victory in this event and will be challenged by fellow Tasmania Golf Club member Richard Kube, who was runner up in the Tasmanian Amateur last month.
Tamar Valley champion for 2016 Jack Tregaskisjago is also competing.
Among the entries in the junior championship are Prospect Vale trio James Fiddian, Ryan Thomas and Jack Blair, while the women’s championship has Kalynda Cowen, Amanda Smith, Rosemary Paton and Sharon Crowden in the field.
Secretary Rick Sindorff has extended the deadline for men, women and junior tournament entries and these can be made by phoning him directly until Wednesday evening on 0418 909 589.
Oatlands hosted the Tasmanian B Grade Championships again on November 19 and 20, and day-one leader with an 81 off the stick, was previous champion Pat Davis of St Helens.
On day two, Victor Double of Campbell Town and Damien Rainbird of Colebrook tied after 36 holes on 167 and Rainbird won the play-off when Double had his putt lip out at the 18th.
Winner of the nett was Grant Richardson of Campbell Town who has played in every B Grade Championship since it began in 2000.
Meanwhile at Scottsdale, the State C Grade Championship was being played and local member Graeme Booth won a playoff with Chris Chatwin from Ulverstone after both carded 185. Scottsdale’s Scott Harris won the nett with 140
At Riverside, Jonathon French has won the Road To Wrest Point event where every member playing in the Saturday competition is allocated points in an order of merit style.
French won the play-off against other finalists Stephen Fox and Michael Lethborg.
It was great to see Ryan McCarthy back in Australia playing in the PGA on the Gold Coast and tying for 45th in a group of players that included another Tasmanian Mathew Goggin.
The former Seabrook player has been competing on the Latinoamerica Tour for the past two years, basing himself in Buenos Aires.
He recently played the European Qualifying tournament, narrowly missing his card but qualifying for the European Challenge Tour.
