Launceston architecture firm S Group is working with Singapore company Fragrance Group to build the Collins Street hotel, which, is approved, will be the tallest building in Tasmania at 20 storeys.
The designs, released last week, received some negative kickback from the public, which S Group director Sam Haberle said the company was prepared for.
Mr Haberle said there were projects of “considerable size” in the pipeline for Launceston.
“I think Launceston is going to more open to this conversation… We’re ready for and we need progress,” he said.
