“The community awards are an incredibly important event for us, and our chance to recognise the grassroots, heart and soul of football in our state,” said AFL Tasmania chief executive Rob Auld.

“It’s fantastic to be able to attract two high calibre, high profile, experienced representatives from the elite competition.”
Hope is a three-time Victorian Women’s Football League leading goal-kicker and this year became the first player to kick 100 goals in a season before signing as a marquee player for Collingwood in next year’s inaugural women’s AFL competition.
Leppitsch was a member of the Brisbane side that won three consecutive premierships from 2001-03 and gained three All-Australian selections.
For the past three seasons, Leppitsch was the Lions senior coach, until he was replaced by Tasmanian-born Chris Fagan earlier this month.
