The man – who cannot be named for legal reasons – appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
It alleged he committed 13 sex crimes against a female, including attempted rape, aggravated sexual assault and an indecent act directed at a young person under 17.
He has pleaded not guilty and will appear in the Launceston Supreme Court on January 30.
