Noon: Three-time middleweight world champion boxer Daniel Geale picks his father up from his childhood home at Rocherlea ahead of his fight against Renold Quinlan.
The pair head to Daniel’s hotel so he can begin his preparations for the fight.
1pm: Daniel meticulously documents his food intake throughout the day.
The Commonwealth Games gold medalist looks through his luggage as baby Harper, 18-months, sleeps in the pram beside him.
“The family is what keeps you motivated all the time, they’re what keeps pushing me to better myself,” Daniel said.
2pm: Ariyelle and Harper cheekily play with their father in the hotel room.
“I want to see them grow up with the best chance they could possibly have and that is why I do what I do,” Daniel said.
“The biggest thing is to stay relaxed throughout the day which can sometimes be difficult,” Daniel said.
“I’ve got a job to do and I try and stay on path as much as I can and not get distracted too much,” Daniel said.
9.45pm: As the clock begins to wind down, Daniel straps on his custom made boots. Designed by Koori artist Darren Dunn, they are themselves a work of art and a proud symbol of the fighter’s Indigenous heritage.
