Tasmania’s Matador Cup campaign will end on Wednesday after their clash with South Australia without a finals appearance, but they could end up with one of the batsmen of the series.

Former Test no.3 Alex Doolan enters the clash on the back of three successive half-centuries, the latest 93 in the losing effort against Western Australia, to give him 283 runs at 141.50, which places him in fifth on the run-scoring table.

But only five runs separate second to fifth, behind runaway leader Cameron White (453 at 90.60).

Dom Michael (195 at 39) is next on the list for the Tigers, while Tim Paine has 173 runs at 43.25.

Cam Boyce (nine wickets at 24.22) is the leading wicket-taker for the Tigers,  while Hamish Kingston has seven wickets at 26.

The Tigers have a 2-3 record in the tournament and their finals hopes ended at the hands of the Warriors.

The clash with the Redbacks will be at Hurstville Oval from 10.30am.
