Losing an arm and a leg hasn’t stopped professional racer Alan Kempster from jumping back on his bike and pursuing his dream of being a world champion.

The Victorian competitor, who had his right arm and leg amputated after being hit by a drunk-driver in 1990, said he never thought he would walk again, let alone race.
However 26 years on and the passionate rider is now competing worldwide.
Visiting Tasmania, Mr Kempster will race at Symmons Plains on Sunday for the Tasmanian Motorcycle Club Dead Rubber Round.
“I’m pretty proud of what I do and I deal with a lot of people with disabilities or depression and they look at me and think if he can do it I can,” Mr Kempster said.
“It’s not just racing either, anything you want to do, you just need to take the risk.
“When I’m an old man I will be able to feel content about my life because I know I’ve gone out there and done my best.”
The Dead Rubber Round will be open to the public from 8am, with free admission for spectators.
