The Launceston Substation was given a new lease on life, with an S.Group design transforming the site from a derelict empty shell into an impressive, modern home.
S.Group operations manager Phil Beeston said the design secured the longevity of the building.
“It's very much celebrating the history and the past and the story of the building, whilst ensuring it can be celebrated moving into the future,” he said.
Owners Mark and Karen Bartkevicius worked closely with S.Group. Mr Bartkevicius said he was delighted with the result and is also pleased with the community feedback about the changes.
“Theres quite a collective ownership of this building by the people of Launceston,” he said.
Mr Beeston said the project, “[Brought] the building back to life not just for Mark and Karen but also for the rest of us to be able to enjoy.”
