Pupils from 16 different schools will come together to celebrate Singfest, an exciting two-day singing event for primary schools to perform old and new songs together.
Schools have spent the past six months practising hard for the event and when the big day finally arrived, they were excited to show off their hard work to an audience.
East Launceston Primary School student Matilda Allen, 11, sung a solo on the night and said she was excited for the event.
Matilda sung the very well-suited piece When I Grow Up from Matilda the Musical.
“I like the song because it’s based around kids growing up,” she said.
“I really like to sing and Singfest is good because you get to work with other schools that you haven’t worked with before.”
The event continues on Thursday night from 6.30pm at the Albert Hall.
Tickets are $8.50 and are available through the Princess Theatre.
