Mr Hong said he will incorporate his skills in Asian cooking into a six-course degustation dinner for the public which includes Tasmanian crayfish, abalone, pork belly, and salt and pepper Flinders Island lamb ribs.

With close to 15 years experience, the 33-year-old has achieved success as head chef of two renowned restaurants in Sydney under the Merivale brand, including Mr. Wong and Ms G’s.

He said he began his cooking career working in his parents restaurant.

Mr Hong’s mentoring will be followed by another Great Chef Series on Sunday, October 2, featuring his Mr Wong. colleague Michael Luo.

Dan Hong’s edition of the Great Chef Series takes place on Friday, September 30 from 6.30pm to 11.30pm. Limited tickets are still available at: http://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/dan-hong-great-chefs-series-tickets-20802096631?ref=ebtnebtckt
