The Basketball Tasmania high performance teams will be eyeing top four positions after both making winning starts to the State League.

Two wins for the women and one for the men were delivered in a hectic weekend at Elphin Sports Centre.

Several Hobart sides kick off their campaigns this weekend with 10 games being played across the state.

Results: Women – BTAS High Performance 65 (Sharna Thompson 21, Taylor Mole 20, Sarah O’Neil 14) defeated Maverics 57 (Paige French 19, Steph Shaw 13, Sam Clements 10). Launceston 53 (Alicia Riley 11, Sam Chilcott 10) lost to Ulverstone 69 (Jessie Price 24, Charlotte O’Neil 12). BTAS High Performance 81 (Taylor Mole 27, Sharna Thompson 20, Aisha Anis 15) defeated Ulverstone 62 (Sarah 0’Neil 29). Launceston 73 (Sophie Ackerly 22, Jayde Brazendale 15) defeated Maverics 72 (Hayley Shephard 24, Paige French 20)

Men – BTAS High Performance 96 (Trey Armstrong 18, Nic Bingham 17, Jack Stanwix 13) defeated Maverics 80 (Jamie Mesman 24, Blair Diprose 11, Matt Beaurmann 10). Hobart Moonah 71 (Reuben Oates 16, Arop Masok 12) lost to Kingborough-Huon 99 (Jarryd Moss 24, Fraser Gehrig 15, Mason Brezinscak 12). City of Launceston 62 (Isaac Dale 19, Ray Young 10) lost to Maverics 88 (Jamie Mesman 20, Paul Campbell 20, Ty Stewart 10)
