East Launceston Primary School held its pop-up classroom event at the Launceston LINC to give members of the public a taste of what really happens at the school.
Students spent the morning building robots, coding and programming on computers, all while chatting to interested library-goers.
Assistant principal Brett Hay said the event was about making sure everyone in the community understood what takes place in schools.
“The idea is that people who don’t usually interact with schools chat with the children, see what they’re doing and start to build an understanding of what is happening,” Mr Hay said.
Grade 5 pupil Amelia Reynolds, 11, said she and her classmates were working on robotics programming to make a Lego robot that completed challenges.
“It’s pretty fun being in the library because we can show the public what we’re learning and they can learn with us as well,” Amelia said.
