As part of Frocktober, an annual Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation initiative, the girls are collecting dresses to be sold at the Northern Clothes Market in Launceston.
Ms Pakinga said they created the Rock On With Your Frock On team to support those who had been touched by cancer.
“We all know someone affected by cancer, I personally have known two ladies who have passed away because of this terrible, undetectable disease,” she said.
“We're hoping that with funding there will be a test to detect early cancer or even better, a cure.”
Locals wanting to purchase a frock can visit the girls at the market on Sunday at St Ailbe’s Hall.
The market will run from midday to 3pm.
All dresses will be sold for under $50 with funds going directly to the campaign.
