Launceston’s Stephanie King is the only Tasmanian among the 30 finalists, and is in Melbourne preparing for the final stages of the competition.
The 22-year-old will take part in an evening gown round, a swimsuit round and take part in a question and answer segment on stage.
She said she will be judged on intelligence, physical fitness, personal style and charisma.
Part of the Miss Universe final includes a People’s Choice vote online, and Miss King hopes to gather as much community support as possible before the vote closes on Wednesday night.
