The hard-fought game had the Suns scoring first through a field goal to Hayley Johns.
West levelled up through Sam Lawrence in a strong passage of play before South Launceston scored from Jo Brumby on a well worked penalty corner. In the second half, the tempo lifted but the Suns scored another goal on a penalty corner by Nicole Symons. West's Amee Freeman, Lucinder Spencer and Jodi Thow were tireless while Sun’s Emily Nunn and Goal keeper Lynsey Shepherd-Blazely played excellent games.
Queechy defeated South Burnie 1-0 in the elimination final in Burnie. South Burnie dominated early with Jodi Lancaster, Tess Leary, Talia Britton and Chloe Leary all creating opportunities. Then Queechy began dictating play. Debbie West scored off a penalty corner and Nic Duffy and Mikaela Clarke were strong. They played an excellent team game, and take on West Devonport in next week’s preliminary final.
