Concert for Africa, to be held September 3, will also feature The Bad Dad Orchestra, Bad Beef, Sumner, Mick Attard and Sundaze.
It will mark the first show for Younger Dryas since Party in the Paddock last year.
Band members Jesse Higgs and Isaac Williams will travel with the Launceston-based charity to help build a school for children in a remote area of Tanzania.
“It should be a really fun thing to do, we’re really excited to play,” Higgs said.
“We still get a lot of people messaging us on Facebook the whole time we haven’t been been playing.”
Higgs said the group was “reinvigorated” after touring America as a backing band for his father, Gary Higgs.
And Concert for Africa may be the precursor to more shows, Higgs said.
“It could be the beginning of more shows this summer – we’ve been offered some really good gigs,” he said.
All money raised at Concert for Africa will go towards building the school. Organisers hope to raise $15,000.
The event will be held at Hotel Tasmania in Launceston from 8pm to 2am. A house concert will be held on the same day from 4pm to 7.30pm. Tickets are available at Mojo, Shots on Wax or at tickets.oztix.com.au/?Event=65762. To donate, visit www.gofundme.com/2dsxmme4.
