“I never smoked, or drank,” she said.
“I was a good girl.”
Born on August 21 in 1911, Mrs Roden said she had seen a lot change over the past century.
“Some things are better and some not so good but that’s only natural,” she said.
The centenarian celebrated her latest milestone on Sunday with her friends and family, including her granddaughter Vicki Smith, great-granddaughter Tamieke Atkins and her seven-year-old great-great-granddaughter Rochelle Atkins.
Mrs Smith said her nan had been a positive influence in her family's life.
“She’s worked with the salvation army for forever and loved visiting aged care homes to see the “old people” who were actually a lot younger than her,” she said.
“She just loved helping the community.”
Now, Mrs Roden said she just enjoys relaxing.
