Nearly 40 Tasmanian businesses have put out collection bins for the cause, which seeks to provide homeless women and women in domestic violence shelters with sanitary products.
Launceston team leader Tania Ranson said the donations made a massive difference to women in need around the state.
“The first time I took (products) to the shelter I left in tears because the women were crying getting the bags because they don't expect it,” Mrs Ranson said.
This year 10 Northern businesses have put up their hands to participate in the drive.
The Trevallyn Grocer has gone to special lengths to help support the cause, making cupcakes to thank donors.
“If people donate some pads or tampons or something they get a cupcake or something in here so the girls are doing a great job,” Mrs Ranson said.
“They collected more in here (last year) than any other spot so they really get behind it.”
Mrs Ranson said the August drive would be Share the Dignity’s final collection until April, excluding the popular Christmas campaign It’s in the Bag.
“Even though for most of Australia the website says ‘sanitary sanitary sanitary’, Launceston has a need for knickers - we need new underwear.
“Some people put deodorants and shampoo (in the collection bins) - we'll take anything like that as long as it's brand new.
“If we don't use it now we'll use it for Christmas or we'll give it to the charities that it needs to go to.”
