Ockenden, who was making his 284th Kookaburras appearance and has two bronze medals from his previous Olympic campaigns, praised the Dutch performance.
"They were good, we knew they were going to be good, all the teams here are good. That's no surprise to anyone I don't think. We weren't good enough at putting our chances away. We had more chances today to get back in the game but we weren't clean enough in our skills or we didn't finish them effectively so maybe that was the story of the few weeks."
