Landscape is an exhibition curated by Margot Baird.
“I wanted it to be quite diverse and at the same time very strong,” Ms Baird said.
“We have 12 artists, all Tasmanian.”
An untitled piece by artist Kath Sinkora is a vibrant burst of red, created with a unique state of etching, using 18 layers of printing.
Sinkora described her work as an air of mystery, yet also familiar and romantic. “The landscape beckons. It is my refuge, my sanctuary,” her artist statement said.
Another stand out piece is artist Dean Hohn’s Nautica.
Printed on matte aluminium in a silver art box frame combined with earthy tones create a mesmerising image.
Hohn’s artist statement described his work: “Nautica provides a discovery of light, sand, rock and sea and is a representation of the visual and physical encounters of the morning, combined to create an otherworldly experience that begs to be visually explored.”
