With windows opening onto the rugged greens of Deloraine, hair stylist Belinda Miller's home salon is undoubtedly one from the latter category.
Fresh from a year working in Ireland, the Deloraine mother returned to the state in May and has since set up Mirror and Mantel, a part-time boutique hair studio operating out of Tower Hill Street.
“I'd like to eventually open up a bigger salon but for the next few years I like this kind of vibe - I've had a lot of clients say it's a lot more relaxed,” Miss Miller said.
“It's got a nice view and in summertime I plan to have everything all fenced off so people can bring their kids and play outside (while they) have their hair done.”
Miss Miller’s work is already turning heads at a national level, with the stylist recently winning through to the final stages of an Alter Ego Italy hair photography competition.
“I've been shortlisted down to five people from Australia and then the photo gets sent to Italy and judges pick five from around the world who get sent to Barcelona.”
