The two-day event is designed to offer visitors the chance to explore the East Coast wine region through a variety of special events and cellar door discounts. A gala dinner will feature as the centrepiece for the event, that will include a sunset feast overlooking Great Oyster Bay and a six-course degustation menu matched with six East Coast wines.
“Drop into cellar doors along the Great Eastern Drive, visit the Freycinet Marine Farm, cruise with Wineglass Bay Cruises and stay at Freycinet Lodge for the ‘Great Eastern Wine and Dine’ gala dinner on Saturday 10 September,” Freycinet Lodge general manager Adam Brooks said.
“The Wine Weekend is an exciting drawcard for the East Coast region and we are thrilled to play a key role in an event that celebrates all the East Coast has to offer,” Mr Brooks said. Wine Tasmania CEO Sheralee Davies said the weekend was an excellent opportunity to shine the spotlight on some of the island’s best wine. The Great Eastern Wine Weekend is held on September 10-11.
