Club greats from yesteryear will return to the NTCA Ground for a reunion when the Thistles play old foes St Pats on Saturday, August 6.
The state flag victory over Claremont in 1976 will be at the centre of celebrations.
The outfit coached by the late Barry Harper and captained by Don Jago defeated Quandiene to win the Northern title 40 years ago and went on to pinch the state final from Claremont by two points.
“It was one of the most memorable victories in the club’s history,” Scotch great and ‘76 reserves coach Geoff Price said.
In 1986, the Thistles coached by Paul Reinmuth and captained by Greg Breward took down Rocherlea for regional glory but went down to Hutchins in the state decider despite leading early on.
Breward said many former players and administrators have indicated they would be joining in on celebrations, which will couple as a fund raiser for suicide prevention charity Speak up! Stay Chatty!
He said the club would hold its best and fairest count following the senior match to end a big day.
