Grade 6 teacher Melissa Mitchell said the students were learning how to build robots for the upcoming First Lego League Challenge in August.
“The program on the computer has to match up with where the positioning of all the items are. It’s good for their computational thinking,” she said.
Ms Mitchell said the Lego Mindstorm software had become second nature for some students.
Grade six student Caitlin O’Connor said code was important for the jobs of the future.
“Robots are taking over the world pretty much,” she said.
