The world’s leading game companies and developers were in hot demand, showcasing their best titles for the remainder of 2016.
This week, we feature three hot titles to keep your eye out for over the next six months, starting with an old favourite, reworked for the latest gen machines
GOD OF WAR (Sony Computer Entertainment)
The original GoW on the PlayStation 3 was breathtaking in every sense of the word.
In fact, from a pure graphics perspective, it looked like a PS4 title running on a PS3 – it was THAT good.
The new God of War will be a sequel to God of War 3 with hero Kratos playing single dad to his her son.
There’s a definite focus shift towards a more story-driven adventure title that still features plenty of the god-inspired battles that made the original franchise such a huge hit.
There’s no release date listed as yet.
WATCH DOGS 2 (UbiSoft)
The original Watch Dogs promised so much, and for the most part delivered about half of it.
This time around, Ubi has shifted the title to a new city – San Francisco this time - and opted for a new protagonist, Marcus Holloway, who even sounds like he’s a hacker.
Like the first Watch Dogs, expect plenty of device hacking, driving, stealth-based adventuring, stealing and you even get to play with a drone.
It’s probably going to be a little more player friendly and is due out in November.
BATTLEFIELD 1 (Electronic Arts)
While most FPS shooters are heading into the future – some even into the distant future – Battlefield 1 has stepped back in time to World War I for what EA says will be an epic shooter as you fight your way across Europe (namely France and Italy) to the northern deserts of Africa.
There’s fighting on horseback, there’s fighting in tanks and artillery combat – hell you can even take to the sky for a good old-fashioned dogfight or grow your sea legs as you board a mighty battleship.
Sounds fun, right?
Expect to see this on shelves in late October.
