Fair director Tim Biggs announced earlier this month that the school would be the recipient of all funds raised at the November event, which is likely to total between $10,000 and $20,000.
“We were looking for someone local, someone that we've had a relationship with and someone that does extraordinary work,” Mr Biggs said.
“(Giant Steps) was a perfect fit for us in everything we'd like to do and encouraging a local organisation that's doing some good work.”
The donation will help the school purchase new gym equipment; an acquisition Giant Steps principal Tim Chugg said would otherwise have been out of reach.
“The support we receive from the community and in this case the Deloraine Rotary and the Craft Fair allows us to continue to run a really great program and allows us to buy some things that ordinarily we wouldn't have had a chance to do,” Mr Chugg said.
“With the money we hope to receive from the Craft Fair, we’re going to expand the use of our gym to have a sensory gym and more therapy equipment to use with the children on their programs.”
The Deloraine Rotary, which plays a major role in organising the fair, has helped sponsor three buses for the school since it began in 1995.
