The Northern Tasmanian Cavy Club State Titles Guinea Pig Show at Campbell Town saw large crowds of pets and their owners come together to celebrate the day.
The pet class saw guinea pigs entered in an array of different competitions, including an “around the world” fancy dress category, trimmed long hair and best colour.
But it was not all about the looks – this year’s judging also included a best personality category.
Guinea pigs could also be judged in the pedigree competition.
Experienced breeders and exhibitions were also on hand to answer any questions and give advice.
Club president Merilyn Gent said it was a great show and a successful day.
“We also introduced another fun show called our Veggie Delight show where we had vegetables as prizes for the guinea pigs and that was a new concept,” Ms Gent said.
“Quite a lot of people who were calling through Campbell Town and from the town itself came around to have a look.
“When we have our bigger shows like this, we usually have quite a few people coming along who are interested in getting to know more about having guinea pigs as well as showing them.”
