The Examiner and B&E Bank teamed up with St Vincents de Paul, Raw Tas, Salvation Army, The City Mission and the Benevolent Society to launch an aid fund for those affected by Tasmania’s worst flood since 1929. Donations will go towards providing people with direct assistance.
Raw Tas North, North-East and Flinders Island outreach worker, Rhonda Mackrill, said the fund will help support farming and rural families with food and fuel.
“It will help reduce the stress and distress on farming families, especially those that have been involved in the dairy industry downturn,” she said.
The Examiner editor Simon Tennant said it is important people affected know there are people willing to help them, they are not in this alone.
Donations can be made at any B&E branch or electronically. Account name: The Examiner and B&E Emergency Flood Appeal | BSB: 632-001 | Account number: 100171900
