The Bass Candidates’ Debate wants to explore these questions with runners from the three major parties and ask them what their vision is for our community.
The Examiner and the Launceston Chamber of Commerce are pleased to host the Bass Candidates’ Debate on June 16 at the Country Club in Launceston starting at 6pm.
Candidates from the Liberal, Labor and Greens parties have been invited to attend the debate on Thursday, June 16.
Labor’s Ross Hart and the Greens’ Terrill Riley-Gibson have confirmed their attendance.
Fairfax Tasmania managing editor Mark Baker said the debate would be a chance to hear from candidates on what their vision was for Bass.
“Tasmania is experiencing economic growth and renewed business confidence but it is clear there is more work to be done in Northern Tasmania,” Baker said.
“Who wins the seat of Bass at next month’s election and what their vision is for the region is vitally important for our future prosperity.”
The Examiner wants to know what its readers believe are the main issues impacting their vote and have called for questions to be put to the candidates on the night.
Questions can be submitted via email and should contain the person’s full name and contact details for verification. Or leave your question in the comments section on this story.
Entry is free but people interested in attending are asked to register here.
