The 20-year-old from Ulverstone returned home to the Coast this week from his first year at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado where he received a four year athletics scholarship.
He has shown a lot of promise in his first year abroad, having broken the Tasmanian 3000m record earlier this year.
“I competed in a 3km event which we did in Seattle and I was able to get a PB of 8:08.61 which was a Tasmanian record, but has been broken since.
“So knowing it was broken, it’s definitely a nice bit of competition,” he said.
Adams is home for six weeks and following that will get straight back to work for the cross country season at college and back into his studies in Biology.
