The longest-running show in the southern hemisphere will be held over two days from Friday June 3.
The Campbell Town Show may be Tasmania’s primary sheep and wool show, but it offers so much more than the usual country charm and activities.
The show which is now in its 178th year is again gearing up to pull out all the stops from the cropping and prime lamb competitions to learning to knit and a whole host of kids activities over the two days.
Publicity officer for the show, Jo Dowling said she was excited for another great event that brings the community together.
"It's something that, as a community, we're incredibly proud of . . . It's run by volunteers at a time when people just don't have much time, so the fact that it still exists is a credit to the people who remain committed," she said.
"It's an important event for a number of reasons. It's the oldest running show in the southern hemisphere, it's a reflection of our agricultural community, and it's run by volunteers from the rural community who are giving back to the Campbell Town community, sharing and celebrating what we can do in the Midlands."
