Car enthusiasts are being encouraged to get their engines ready for the St Marys Community Car and Bike Show next month.

Exhibitor Carl Wagner will display his 1970 Ford Mustang Coupe, which he has owned for the past eight years.
“It’s just a really great community event for the area, and they don't discriminate over whether you’ve got an old car, a new car or a motorcycle and even a truck,” he said. “It’s really good and brings a lot to the community and it’s a good meet and greet for people who’ve got a common interest.”
Mr Wagner said working on a special interest vehicle is a labor of love and a very gradual process.
“There’s countless hours of detailing, polishing and restoration, when you get these cars some of them are over 40 or 50-years-old and they’re not in very good condition and for some you’ve got the rebuild them from the ground up,” he said.
A brand new Mclaren 540C, the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, will be a highlight of the show,
