After eight years, The Screaming Jets have returned with their seventh studio album Chrome on May 13.
Paul Woseen – the band’s bassist, songwriter and backup vocalist – said that they wanted to document the time that the current members have had together and the memories which they have created as they were such close mates.
“We have been working well and playing well together, we would be mad not to,” Woseen said.
The Screaming Jets may have six albums under their belt, this time the recording process was done a little differently.
“We hired a big bunk house in Byron Bay for everyone to stay in, so we didn’t have to go anywhere,” Woseen said.
“The studio was only 30-40 metres away from our beds.”
This enabled the band to record in one big block, as it was hard to record an album when the band members reside in various states across Australia.
“It was the best recording experience I have ever had”, he said.
The band will not visit Tasmania on this album release tour but they expect to play one or two dates in the state on a more extensive tour later this year.
