Acting sergeant Nathaniel Evershed said on Monday afternoon that the bikes had been found in bushland near Hadspen.
They are believed to be in good condition.
Tasmania Police is following a specific line of inquiry into the theft of the bikes, and anyone with any information is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 222 000.
EARLIER: Six motorcycles were stolen from a container stored at Prospect High School on Saturday night, according to Tasmania Police.
Unknown offenders removed four blue-Kawasaki KLX road/trail bikes and two green-Kawasaki Ninja road bikes valued about $20,000, police said.
The container stored motorcycles used by an accredited training company for rider training licence testing.
Loss of the motorcycles is likely to affect driver training and licence testing until they are replaced.
Police are urging anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the motorcycles and the offenders responsible for the theft to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 222 000 or Launceston Police on 13144.
