A vibrant and truly delightful person, Ms McTaggart was looking forward to morning tea and lunch at Exeter RSL on Friday, followed by dinner on Saturday at Riverside Hotel.
Ms McTaggart went to school in Beaconsfield until she was 15, when she began work at the Post Office before moving to Hobart to work at the Cadbury factory.
“Some of the girls would eat chocolates all day long,” Ms McTaggart recalled.
She was very close to her eldest sister, Joyce, following her to Melbourne to see what they could do to help with the war effort.
A member of Country Women's Association for over 30 years, Ms McTaggart shared fond memories of women gathering for morning tea and concerts. She chuckled as she recalled the mischievous characters she’d played.
Ms McTaggart spends her days maintaining her garden.
“I’d rather be outside than inside,” she said.
