The five part Footy’s Community Heroes series will honour those working behind the scenes at the state’s local football clubs.
The series features volunteers from George Town, Devonport, Evandale, Clarence and Kingborough football clubs.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of every football club and our figures show every week 40,000 supporters are doing their bit – big or small – to get their favourite Tassie teams out on the ground,” AFL Tasmania communications and community relations general manager Sachie Yasuda said.
"Football club supporters volunteer in many different ways each week – from running the canteen on match day to looking after the scoreboard, serving on committees to washing jumpers, there's a role for anyone and everyone at a local footy club."
The series was launched at the George Town Football Club on Saturday.
Southern Cross will air the three minute episodes in prime time on Mondays from 9 May, with repeats aired on 7Mate.
