Spectacularly sunny conditions attracted runners of all ages and abilities to the 2km, 5km and 10km events, with babies in prams just as prevalent as competitors aged 70-plus.
Scamander’s Luke Swanson took out the 10km event in a time of 43.44:82, ahead of New Norfolk’s Wayne Royals and St Helens’ Chris Cumming, while Kingston Beach brothers Sam and Ben Driessen finished at the head of the field in the 5km event, crossing the line in times of 18.59:28 and 20.37:21 respectively.
Hobart’s Nick Moles finished in third place.
In the 2km event, St Helens runner Chloe Pallier recorded a time of 11.36.04 to blitz the field ahead of Bicheno’s Caitlin Silberberg and Scamander’s Josh Allen.
The fun run is organised by the St Helens Local Chaplaincy Committee, with all funds raised contributing towards the cost of a chaplain at St Helens District High School.
